Prospective Players

HOCKEY AT AN SEC SCHOOL
The Frozen Tide and the Bama Hockey Booster Club are committed to providing student-athletes with the option to continue their hockey career at the collegiate level while enjoying the benefits of attending a major university that is a part of the SEC. Although the Frozen Tide competes in the ACHA, and therefore are not a part of the University of Alabama Athletic Department, it is a member of the South Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference. The SECHC consists of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. The SECHC will host a conference Championship in Huntsville, AL for its members in February 2012.
THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA
Student-athletes choosing the University of Alabama will be provided with all the advantages of attending a nationally-recognized University.  Alabama has a legendary football history, degrees in more than 200 fields of study, and a cost of living and attending that is well below the national average. The coaching staff will help guide you through the admissions process, and strongly encourages applicants to finalize their application before the December 1 scholarship priority dates. The Frozen Tide is an ACHA sanctioned hockey team, and cannot award athletic scholarships, but the University has generous scholarship opportunities for academically qualified applicants.

JOIN THE FROZEN TIDE FOR THE 2013-2014 SEASON
The University of Alabama Frozen Tide is seeking talented hockey players that wish to continue their careers in a competitive collegiate program. You will have five years of eligibility, and we will strive to give you an experience similar to that of a major NCAA program. We play all of our home games in the 3,000+ seat Pelham Civic Complex, and hundreds, if not thousands, of Alabama fans will show up for your home games. In 2011 and 2013, we topped out with over 3,000 fans at a single game. We participate in a number of neutral ice showcases that bring together some of the best teams from around the south.

There will be open tryouts at the beginning of the school year. If you are selected to be on the 25 man roster the Frozen Tide has a player fee. There is also an equipment fee for new players.  Hotels are provided to the student-athletes when the team travels for games, and coach buses are provided for the travel.
