Tide Shuts Out Vols; Announce Partnership with Bams Radio and Creation of the Adam English Blue Line Club

On Friday night, the Frozen Tide shut down conference rival 6-0. Goals were scored by David Hewson, Tanner Himmelman, Zach Dailey, Kenny Jannsen, Reed Finch and Alex Dubrinsky scored goals for Bama, while Sean Vinson posted the shutout.

Earlier in the evening, Bama announced the creation of the Adam English Blue Line Club. A new level for donors starting at the $500 a year mark. It’s introductory member, for Frozen Tide player Mike Bidner, was joined by Carol English and the English family and the University of Alabama Student Government Association. These three members mark a new era in Bama Hockey. Adam English helped to found the team while attending the University. He served as captain, and he was one of the best defenseman in the ACHA South when he played for the Tide. We are very pleased to see a number of donors immediately step up and honor Adam’s contribution to the program.

Last, but not least, Bama Hockey is announcing a new partnership with BAMS Radio. Bams Radio is an online radio program broadcast through www.bamsradio.com. Greg Calhoun states “As a Bama fan, there seems to be quite a bit of information about Alabama sports that slips through the cracks with our stereotypical media. We created BAMS a year ago in March to fill some of the gaps being left by the legacy broadcast and print media. By combining the power of an internet driven radio program with a website, twitter, and Facebook, we have been able to consistently build a solid audience through this year.” Tonight’s game will be broadcast by the folks from Bams Radio, and we are very excited to add them as a media partner to compliment the work of WVUA FM 90.7.
