Bama Hockey The University of Alabama Frozen Tide

Alabama hockey will be hosting open tryouts to complete the 2013-2014 roster. If you are interested in joining the team, you are invited to attend the open skate on Wednesday, September 4th from 8:30pm to 10:30pm. There will be an informational meeting for new players during tryouts week. The time for that meeting will be announced at a later date. Official team tryouts will be held Saturday, September 7th, and Sunday, September 8th. Saturday tryout times are 1:00pm-3:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. The Sunday tryout times are 10:00am-12:00pm and 4:00pm-6:00pm. There is a $75 fee to tryout for the team, which includes a hotel room. All tryouts will be held at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena in Pelham, Alabama. The official recruiting visit for Bama Hockey will be held on March 1 & March 2 of this year.

Students and their families will meet at 9am on campus in Tuscaloosa and tour the campus, the recreation center and famed Bryant-Denny Stadium. After meeting with the coaches and some of the players, students will be able to get on the ice with some returning Bama Hockey players in Pelham Civic Complex on March 2.

After an up-and-down start of the season, Bama Hockey takes an 8-8-1 and a #10 ranking into 2 games with the University of Miami. 20 years after the two schools football teams faced off for a National Championship, the hockey teams will look to get going in the right direction for the final push into the ACHA Playoffs.
